Healthy Habits: The Upside of Stress

The Markaz's Project Pomegranate is excited to introduce our newest wellness program Healthy Habits! These casual, culturally-sensitive, and collaborative conversations aim to help students better practice self-care.

Join us in Week 5 for the second event in the series: Upside of Stress. This brief 30 minute workshop will explore ways in which we can utilize stress to benefit our performance, academic and otherwise.

All conversations will take place during the second half of Afternoon Chai (so there will be plenty of snacks!), and will be facilitated by Oliver Lin, Ph.D. and Victoria (Vickie) Moran, M.S.

Oliver Lin, Ph.D. is entering his tenth year as a psychologist at CAPS. He really enjoys working with students and has a particular interest in matters of faith and spirituality, diversity, empowerment, existential concerns, and healthy relationships. Some fun facts: he is an original member of Talisman, taught Education 193F on Asian American well being, and loves the outdoors, tennis & table tennis.

Vickie Moran, M.S. is honored to be spending her Tuesdays at the Markaz. She is a psychology intern at CAPS, and her primary professional interests include spirituality, health, psychology and multiculturalism. She welcomes interfaith discourse, as well as exploration of one’s spiritual and religious beliefs. To relax, Vickie creates multi-media art, writes poetry, runs, and practices yoga.
