Markaz Room Reservation Policies

Main content start
  1. All who utilize Markaz Room Reservations are expected to follow the Stanford Fundamental Standard.
  2. Room reservations are only for individuals and organizations affiliated with Stanford. Non-affiliated organizations and community members should refer to Stanford Conference Services for information on space.
  3. Reservations for center space become available on a quarterly basis.
  4. Priority reservations will be given to the Markaz, followed by the Markaz Affiliated Student Organizations (MVSOs):
    • To become an MVSO and gain access to priority reservation, a VSO must participate in our annual Markaz x VSO Cohort Program. All VSOs can apply to participate in Fall Quarter.
  5. In rare circumstances, the Markaz may need to reschedule a previously confirmed reservation. Staff will do their best to ensure an alternate time or location is secured.
  6. Once rooms are reserved, your group is responsible for staffing your event. Set-up, clean-up, and everything in between will be up to your organization to coordinate. Markaz staff will not be present unless you request Markaz Engagement and Partnership in advance.
    • All groups are responsible for cleaning up after their event. This means disposing of all food and trash, tidying the kitchen, and returning furniture to the appropriate locations. Any group who does not sufficiently clean after their event may be restricted from future Markaz bookings.
  7. The Markaz space may not be used for overnight stays or storage of your personal or organization’s belongings.
  8. Cancellation Policy: Notify the Markaz of a canceled event as soon as you know. Last-minute cancellations prevent other groups from booking the space. Individuals or organizations that regularly cancel events may be restricted from future Markaz bookings.
