Since 2015, the Markaz’s programmatic efforts have been led by students. Taking inspiration from social justice and community organizing practices, we encourage all members of our  student staff to bring their unique talents, perspectives, and personal histories into their work, as intentional, collaborative community leaders at Markaz. We take great pride in allowing students to inform, ideate and drive our programs, and believe that this organizational style facilitates the development of critical leadership skills and keeps the center aligned with current student needs and interests.
