Sebastian Lucek
Sebastian Lucek is a PhD candidate in Political Science whose research centers on the ways that religion, group identity, and social hierarchies shape inter-group relations and political behavior, with a regional focus on South Asia. Prior to joining Stanford, he lived and worked in India, Senegal, and Nigeria conducting field-based public policy research. When he's not working on his research or teaching, he spends his time studying Hindustani classical music on sitar as a disciple in the Maihar-Senia gharana, playing classical guitar, learning new languages, and exploring the intersection of religion, art, and historical memory around the world. As Graduate Programs Associate, he looks forward to supporting research and fostering community among graduate students across disciplines.
