Yousef AbuHashem

Yousef AbuHashem is curious to explore the various venues that could be sought to strengthen and widen the supportive base on campus for Palestinian dignity and human rights. Coming from Gaza, Yousef wants to use his fellowship as a tool to show the beauty, warmth, complexity, and struggle of the Palestine he grew up within and knows very well which has mostly turned into mere memories due to the ethnic cleansing his homeland has been going through . Yousef is a senior majoring in computer science. Specifically, he is interested in low-level computer systems as it satisfies his curiosity in understanding computers on a fundamental level. In his free time, he enjoys playing Middle Eastern music on his Oud and singing to Arabic melodies.
